Journal Entry, Day 8
A New England Farewell
The final morning of our New England autumn adventure began with a leisurely sit-down breakfast at Jonathan’s Ogunquit, conveniently located just next door to the Meadowmere Resort. As we enjoyed our last meal together, we reminisced about the highlights of the trip—the fiery autumn landscapes, historic towns, incredible food, and unforgettable experiences that made this journey so special.
By 9:00 AM, we checked out of the resort and began our scenic drive back toward Boston, making one last iconic coastal stop along the way.
Our photo stop at Cape Neddick Light, affectionately known as “The Nubble”, gave us one final breathtaking glimpse of Maine’s rugged coastline. With its dramatic perch on a rocky island just offshore, The Nubble Lighthouse has long been a favorite for photographers, and today, we had our own chance to capture its beauty—waves crashing against the cliffs, seabirds soaring above, and the lighthouse standing strong against the Atlantic breeze.
With a mix of gratitude and nostalgia, we continued south toward Logan International Airport, arriving around 12:00 PM to check in for our flights home.
As we parted ways, we carried with us the unforgettable memories of autumn in New England— from the golden foliage of Vermont to the towering peaks of New Hampshire and the charming coastal towns of Maine. The trip may have come to an end, but the sights, flavors, and friendships made along the way will stay with us forever.
Until next time, New England. 🍁✨
